Today, while we're all happily cheering the safe return of our Iraq veterans, let me raise a glass to all the old freaks in the Sydney underground. They took on The Government at home, traitors all, and stopped the Marines from turning Vietnam into a forty-year war with South-East Asia. After Iraq and the resulting oil crisis, our Governments need to be reminded of the Abby Hoffman observation:
"Revolution is not something fixed in ideology, nor is it something fashioned to a particular decade. It is a perpetual process embedded in the human spirit."When those returning vets are called on to defend the streets of Sydney from the poor who live there, who's side you gonna be on? With us, or against?
